โ Supported Pay Frequencies
ZonePayroll supports the most common pay frequencies out of the box:
| Pay Frequency | Description |
|---|---|
| Weekly | Pay periods are every 7 days |
| Fortnightly | Pay periods are every 14 days (often called "bi-weekly" in Canada/US) |
| Bi-monthly | Two fixed periods per month โ 1stโ15th and 16thโend of month |
| Monthly | One full calendar month per pay period |
๐ง Note: Terminology may differ by region. For example, โfortnightlyโ is commonly used in Australia and the UK, while โbi-weeklyโ is more common in North America
๐ What About the Pay Date?
Your pay date is flexible โ it does not need to match the end of the pay period.
๐ง Example: If your pay period runs from the 1st to the 31st (monthly), you can choose to pay staff on the 30th, the last working day of the month, or even earlier depending on your business needs.
โ Can I Set a Custom Pay Period (e.g. 27th to 26th)?
At this time, fully custom pay periods like โ27th to 26th of each monthโ are not supported in ZonePayroll.
Even if such preferences are stored in some records, the payroll engine calculates pay periods based on your selected frequency and uses built-in logic.
๐ The Bi-monthly option always uses 1stโ15th and 16thโend of month. These dates are fixed and cannot be changed.
