Saved Searches help Payroll Officers find important payroll data β but sometimes you want to export the results to a CSV file so you can review it offline, share it with others, or track it in a spreadsheet.
This article shows two ways to download your results as CSV, depending on your workflow.
π§ When Would You Export?
Exporting a Saved Search is useful when you want to:
-
Send a list of issues (e.g. missing bank info) to someone else
-
Check data offline before running payroll
-
Keep audit logs or QA records
-
Compare results over time
β Two Ways to Export a Saved Search to CSV
πΉ Option 1: Export From the Search Results View
-
Go to:
Reports > Saved Searches > All Saved Searches -
Click the name of the search (e.g.
Employees Missing Bank Info) -
Once results load, scroll to the bottom right of the page
-
Click Export - CSV
Your browser will download a file (e.g. SavedSearch_EmployeesMissingBankInfo.csv) which you can open in Excel or Google Sheets.
πΉ Option 2: Export From the Saved Search List View
If you donβt need to view the results in NetSuite first:
-
Go to:
Reports > Saved Searches > All Saved Searches -
Find your saved search
-
On the right side, look for the βExport - CSVβ link next to the search
-
Click it to immediately download the CSV
This is a faster option when you're doing routine checks or working with multiple Saved Searches in one go.
β Best Practices
-
Rename the file to include the date (e.g.
MissingBankInfo_May2025.csv) -
Use filters, pivot tables, or conditional formatting in Excel to review data
-
Store weekly/monthly exports in a secure folder if doing compliance audits
