If you run payroll regularly, you probably use the same Saved Searches again and again β for things like checking missing bank details or unapproved time.
Instead of navigating through menus each time, you can pin these searches to your dashboard or shortcuts for quick access.
This article shows you how.
β Option 1: Add a Saved Search to Your Dashboard
Use this method if you want the Saved Search to appear on your Home Dashboard as a portlet (widget).
Step-by-Step:
-
Go to your Home Dashboard (click the house icon π in the top left)
-
Click Personalize (top right corner of the dashboard)
-
Click "Saved Search" in the list of available content
-
A new portlet will appear β click the gear icon βοΈ on that portlet
-
In the portlet settings:
-
Title: Give it a name (e.g. βπ© Missing Bank Infoβ)
-
Saved Search: Choose your search from the dropdown
-
Optional: Tick Auto-Refresh if you want it to update daily
-
-
Click Save
β Youβll now see the results of the Saved Search every time you load your dashboard!
β Option 2: Add a Saved Search to Your Shortcuts Menu
Use this method if you want to keep the Saved Search handy in the Shortcuts dropdown (top left, next to the search bar).
Step-by-Step:
-
Navigate to the Saved Search you want to pin (e.g. go to
Reports > Saved Searches > All Saved Searchesand click the one you want) -
Once the search loads, click Shortcuts > Add to Shortcuts
-
Give it a custom name (e.g. βPayroll β Missing Bank Infoβ) if you like
β It will now appear in your Shortcuts menu for quick access anytime.
π§ Tip for Payroll Teams
Create a payroll checklist dashboard with key Saved Searches like:
-
Missing bank details
-
Time not approved
-
Leave not processed
-
Terminations without final pays
This lets you check everything at a glance before you start the pay run.
