This article provides instructions for Payroll Administrators to update the Employer Dental Benefit (Box 45) for multiple employees using a CSV import.
Important: The Employer Dental Benefit field is case-sensitive and space-sensitive. Values must be entered exactly as shown below, including all spaces and dashes.

When preparing your CSV file, use the following exact values in Column B:
1 - No dental insurance or coverage of any kind
2 - Payee
3 - Payee, spouse and dependent children
4 - Payee and their spouse
5 - Payee and their dependent children

Before creating your CSV file, it is highly recommended to review the current configuration for each employee. You can use the exported list from this report as your base template for Employee Internal ID and Employer Dental Benefit values to ensure accuracy.
To retrieve your template data:
Navigate to:
Payroll Administration→Canada→T4 EOY Summary: Data Validation.Export the report to Excel to capture the required Internal IDs.

| Log in as the Payroll Administrator. Navigate to: Payroll Administration → Payroll Setup → Import CSV Records. | |
| 4 | Under Import Type, select Employees. Under Record Type, select Employees. | |
| 5 | On the Import Options screen, select Add or Update. Set the Custom Form to Payroll Employee Form. | |
| 6 | On the Field Mapping screen, map Internal ID to the Employee field and Column B to the Employer Dental Benefit field. | |
| 7 | Save the mapping and click Save and Run. | |
| 8 | Confirm the status in View Results. |
