Overview
This guide explains how to create Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) time entries using a CSV import in NetSuite. These time entries support SSP calculations, enable period linking, and are required for SSP implementation.
Important: These entries are for tracking purposes only and must be excluded from payroll.
Step 1: Prepare Your CSV File
To ensure proper mapping during import, please use the provided Excel template Outline:
Template Rules
Yellow columns: You must provide this data for each row.

Green columns: Predefined values – must NOT be changed.

CSV Field Breakdown

Employee Internal ID (e.g., 1234). Resource: How to find Employee Internal IDs.

| Duration | Hours per day (e.g., 7.5). |
| Pay Component Sub Type |
Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) or UK SSP Unpaid Leave. |
| Exclude From Payroll | Must be set to Yes. |
| Approval Status | Must be set to Approved. |
| Department / Location | Optional. |
| Memo | Optional (Recommended: 'SSP Implementation'). |
Step 2: Import the CSV into NetSuite
Access the import tool based on your assigned role:
Payroll Administrator Role: Payroll Administration → Payroll Setup → Import CSV Records.
Administrator: Setup → Import/Export → Import CSV Records.

The "Center" pane shows the link. Click the Small Pencil Icon ✏️ next to the Employee field to switch to Internal ID. |

Step 3: Validate Time Entries
After the import is complete, navigate to Employee → Time Tracking to confirm the following:
Entries are created with the correct Date, Duration, and Sub Type.
Exclude From Payroll is set to Yes.
Approval Status is set to Approved.
