π Payday Super Readiness
Beginning July 1, 2026, employers are required to remit Superannuation Contributions on the same Pay Day that employees are paid. To support these new requirements, ZonePayroll has introduced several enhancements to payroll processing, super remittances, and STP reporting.
Whatβs New:
STP Reporting Updates: STP reporting has been updated to support Payday Super requirements, including reporting on QE (Qualifying Earnings) and mandatory reporting of Super Liability (SL).
Start Super Remittance Button: A new Start Super Remittance button has been added to the pay run, making it easier to begin the super remittance process immediately after payroll is completed.
Super Due Date Reminder: A reminder banner will now appear in the pay run to display the super remittance due date and help payroll teams stay on top of upcoming deadlines.
Yearly MCB cap: New yearly MCB cap instead of the current quarterly cap. The cap applies to reported YTD QE.

π¨π¦ Canada: 2026 Mid-Year Tax Updates
ZonePayroll has been updated to support the CRA's July 2026 payroll deduction changes. These updates will automatically apply to payrolls with a pay date on or after July 1, 2026.
Whatβs Changing:
-
British Columbia: Provincial income tax rates and basic reduction amounts have been updated for the remainder of 2026. Because the original tax changes were retroactive to January 1 but are only being implemented mid-year, prorated amounts will apply to to payrolls with a pay date on or after July 1, 2026:
Lowest Tax Rate: The lowest tax rate permanently increases from 5.06% to 5.60%. To catch up for the first six months of the year, a prorated rate of 6.14% will apply from July through December 2026.
Basic Reduction Amount: The full-year basic reduction amount increases to $690 (originally indexed to $575). To balance the year, a prorated basic reduction of $805 will apply for the remaining six months of the year.
Newfoundland & Labrador: The Basic Personal Amount (BPA), prorated to $15,000, has been updated to reflect the CRA mid-year changes. Employees who previously submitted a TD1NL do not need to complete a new form.
Prince Edward Island: A new 21% prorated tax bracket has been added for annual taxable income above $200,000 (Jul-Dec).
Action Required: No action is required. We recommend reviewing your first July payroll following the CRA tax updates.
