👉 Action Required: Review Key Actions After Updates
- Key Actions After Updates: Understanding Bundle Impacts
- Read the Full v26.5.00 Release Notes.
- Australian Customers: Review updated Ordinary Time Earnings (OTE) allowance handling and Maximum Contribution Base (MCB) configurations before processing upcoming pay runs.
- Canadian Customers: Review the new Northwest Territories and Nunavut payroll-tax functionality, including employer and employee controls, vendor setup, and remittance reporting.
🇦🇺 Australia
- OTE Flat Allowance Fix: Resolved an issue where flat-dollar allowances added through Manually Add Detail were incorrectly calculating OTE amounts for Superannuation Guarantee purposes.
- Super Base Capping at the MCB: Enhanced Payday Super calculations to cap the total super base, including applicable packaged salary sacrifice, at the ATO Maximum Contribution Base. The calculation now replays prior pay runs to prevent excess super-base amounts from carrying into later periods.
- STP Preview Email Notifications: Improved Single Touch Payroll preview processing for large submissions. Completion emails now return to the initiating user, and failures during background processing generate an actionable notification rather than failing silently.
- SAFF Contact Details: Corrected SAFF export mapping so employee landline and mobile phone numbers populate the appropriate file columns for clearing-house validation.
🇨🇦 Canada
- Northwest Territories and Nunavut Payroll Tax (New): Added native support for automatic 2% employee payroll-tax deductions for employees working in Northwest Territories or Nunavut. The release includes dedicated pay component configuration, payslip deductions, territorial vendor routing, employer-level controls, employee exemptions, and remittance reporting. Opt-in/opt-out Option NT/NU Payroll Tax
- Vacation Pay Pension Base Calculation: Resolved an issue where vacation pay payouts were not included in the Percentage of Base for Pension calculation, ensuring pension deductions use the correct base for applicable payout types.
- CPP End-Date Handling: Corrected Canada Pension Plan contribution-period logic so a user-entered CPP/QPP end date includes the applicable month. Pay dates within the end month are no longer incorrectly treated as CPP-exempt.
- PIER Review CPP Calculation Improvements: Updated CPP basic-exemption handling to support pay-period-based tracking, unique pay-period counts, mid-year reporting, and the annual exemption cap. The month-based Pensionable Months approach has been removed from the updated calculation scope.
- Manual Pay Detail Configuration: Manual and one-off pay detail entries now respect applicable Canadian province-level vacation-pay overrides configured on the pay component subtype.
- % After Tax Pay Update: Includes a fix for the after-tax percentage calculation on Canadian payslips, where "After Tax" is calculated as gross earnings minus statutory deductions (CPP, CPP2, QPP, QPP2, EI, QPIP, federal tax, provincial/territorial tax including marginal tax on non-periodic pay, NT/NU payroll tax where applicable, and lump-sum federal tax). Customers can opt in by adding "After Tax" to a subtype's Percent Type.
All Markets & Platform
- Payroll Component Next Pay Date: Non-variable pay components with a due Next Pay Date now advance automatically after payslip processing. Rollback handling restores the previous date from system-note history.
- Payroll Email Sender Fallback: Added the System Email Employee as a fallback sender when Email From is not configured.
- Employee Configuration Validation: Added improved prompts and error handling when selecting subsidiaries or saving employee records with missing mandatory payroll configuration data
- SuiteScript Migration (SS1 to SS2.1): We have begun migrating legacy SuiteScript 1.0 scripts to SuiteScript 2.1. This release includes the migration of the Employee Record script logic. Please test and review your employee record workflows, as minor operational or customization conflicts may occur during this transition.
